Billing & FAQ

How does Health Vista work?

Health Vista offers specialized telehealth consultations for patients with confirmed or suspected POTS, Dysautonomia, and DGBI (Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction).

  • Who we treat: We focus on the "whole patient," connecting the dots between GI symptoms and the autonomic nervous system.

  • Where we serve: We are currently licensed to see patients physically located in Illinois, Colorado, and Maryland.

  • Coming Soon: Indiana, Wisconsin, Arizona, Florida, and Texas.

What ages do you treat?

We specialize in Pediatric and Young Adult care, treating patients from age 5 to age 30. If you are outside this age range, please contact us.

Do you take insurance?

We operate as an Out-of-Network provider. This model allows Dr. Fortunato to spend a full hour with you—reviewing your records priot to the visit, and listening to your history and formulating a comprehensive care plan during the visit —without the time constraints or restrictions imposed by insurance companies.

While we do not bill insurance directly, we provide a detailed Superbill (medical receipt) after your visit. Many patients successfully submit this to their insurance plan for partial or full reimbursement using their "Out-of-Network" benefits.

How do I pay?

We believe in transparent, flat-fee pricing with no surprise bills.

  • Initial Consultation (60 mins): $600

  • Follow-Up Appointment (30 mins): $200

  • Payment Methods: We accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and ACH bank transfers via our secure portal. Payment is due 24 hours prior to the time of service.

What is the "No Surprises Act"?

Under federal law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. We will provide this to you in writing before your scheduled appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because our appointment slots are 60 minutes long, a missed visit significantly impacts our ability to care for other patients on our waitlist.

  • Notification: You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment time with no penalty.

  • Late Cancellations/No-Shows: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur the full consultation fee ($600).

Do you provide letters for School Accommodations (504/IEP)?

Yes. We believe that advocating for your child’s education is a vital part of their healthcare. Dr. Fortunato can provide the necessary medical documentation to support 504 Plans or IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations (such as water access, rest breaks, or modified PE). This documentation is included as part of your comprehensive care plan.

Does Dr. Fortunato replace my child's pediatrician?

No. Health Vista is a specialty clinic focused on Gastroenterology and Autonomic Disorders. We act as consultants and partners in your care team, but we do not replace your Primary Care Provider (PCP). You must maintain a relationship with a local PCP for routine wellness visits, vaccinations, and acute illnesses (like flu or strep).
